Last Chance EP - Ben-Dain Smith

John Winser (Gigs N Trigs)

If you haven't had the chance to listen to Ben Dain-Smith yet, then maybe you should start now....

With the release of his second EP, Last Chance recently, the South Wales singer songwriter has written another blinder.

If you've already checked out the first EP Lost At Sea, you'll know how heart felt and emotive this guy writes.

Listen along on Spotify here and check out my review below...

Ben certainly seems to have his feet firmly planted in the origins of good old rock n roll and blues music. This definitely shines through on the first track and EP title track Last Chance, continuing beautifully to the more acoustic offering of One Hand Tied, which combines a sweet electric solo perfectly.

Simple rock n roll. Brilliant!

Tomorrow gives us a beautiful piano lead, easing seamlessly into a stunning ballad about giving everything you can and the trepidation of a new future. A melody that will stick in your head for a long time.

Moving on in the signature way of writing we are getting to know with Ben and thats definitely a good thing folks, we have Walk With Me.

I just love the dirty, country rock n roll feel that this track has. He effortlessly amalgamates the old 60's style with the later 90's indie rock feel that inspires him so much and comes up with something special. Great track and one of my faves!

Another Perfect Day and Happily Ever After brings a gorgeous end to the EP and as with Lost At Sea, we get the 'end credits' instrumental outro, giving you chance to soak in the emotion, reminisce and enjoy what you've just heard.

Does it make you happy, does it make you sad? You decide...either way, its another stunning EP from a very talented young singer songwriter that you need to check out....Go find Ben Dain-Smith on all the usual platforms.
