Next up in my 'Ones To Watch' blog are the boys from Blackwood - Super Marine
These guys are already causing a stir on the local South Wales music scene and are definitely destined for greater things! Their sound could easily fill stadiums and the latest live performances are already selling out. That includes the debut single launch for Decadent Flowers they had at Blackwood Miners Institute recently.
Super Marine are four talented young fellas from the South Wales valleys that include

Rhys Davis on Vocals & Guitar
Matt Davies - Guitar
Dan Barrell - Bass
Jay Price - Drums
Decadent Flowers has all the qualities to make it a sure fire hit. The catchy hook, the uptempo feel-good feeling and of course, the all important singalong chorus. Its a winner whether you're driving through the night or jumping and singing in the arena or indeed your favourite local venue.
I can just imagine a few thousand people joining in with the whoa-oh's and raising the roof all across the UK and hopefully one day, the world!
Super Marine have recently been working with the Forte Project and have so far helped with the official video for the single, as well as getting together that sold out show for them.
Let front-man Rhys tell you a little more about it.....
As Rhys mentioned in that video, this weekend saw Cardiff's fantastic Swn Festival. It takes place in several venues right across the city centre with bands and artists of all sorts and genres showcasing their talents starting Friday night and continuing all day Saturday & Sunday.
I got down early to see Super Marine play the mighty Fuel Rock Club on Womanby Street, in the heart of all the action. It was great to catch up with the band and have a chat before the performance. They're all excited for whats going on at the moment and working their socks of recording and pushing a load of new material our way!
As I had only heard the debut single, I couldn't wait to hear more material and more importantly, see the guys play live....I wasn't disappointed! A class act.
You can tell the hard work the band put into these shows because they sound totally tight and on point. I feel every song is a hit and the 6 or 7 tracks we were treated to were awesome. All killers, no fillers, as they say!
Jays drums are flawless, the guitar work from both Matt & Rhys are effortless and what can I say about cheeky Dan and his hip swinging bass skills!
All combined, songs like Long Walk, I'm Still Here and Living For The Weekend give us a brilliant taste of what's to come in the future for these talented young lads!
