Josh Beddis is a singer/songwriter from West Wales and the latest artist to rise from the flames of the ever growing Country music and Americana scene that seems to be rapidly growing in the Welsh regions.
He grew up listening to traditional country music such as Hank Williams, Don Williams, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson & Marty Robbins in his grandads kitchen.
Its stuck with him ever since and also takes inspiration from modern artists like Tyler Childs, Colter Wall, Jason Isbelle, Cody Jinks and Sturgill Simpson.
Find out more about this talented lad with my interview and exclusive review of the new single, set to drop very soon!
Hi Josh...! First up, for those that don’t know you, tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi! I'm a Country/Americana singer songwriter from Pembrokeshire in West wales, a husband and father of three.
We’ve seen in the write up about the people you grew up listening to and the artists that inspired you. All thanks to your Grandad?! Tell us more..
As long as I can remember he's always had music going in the background when ever he was doing anything. Hank Williams, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard and even to this day, he'd spend a lot of time in the kitchen with the cassette/cd player on pottering about but he'd never be without a old country song on in the background. I spent a lot of time there growing up and I guess it stuck with more than I realised.

Luckily for us, eh!
There seems to be a massive Americana movement in South Wales at the moment with so many great artists and bands. A mini-tour or our own little festival would be cool, eh?!
Yeah! I just want to get out and play as many venues as I can now obviously. The music I play isn't really suited to a rowdy pub crowd, so I'll have to be more selective but 100% want to get out there to the festivals or playing with other musicians. That would be ideal and so much fun to do. Its a bit more social than just going out on your own.
Who would you love to tour with? Famous or not.
There's some great acts in the States that I'm really into at the moment like Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, Sturgill Simpson, Cody Jinks and Jason Isbelle but also here in the UK there's some guys doing some pretty cool stuff - AGS Conolly, Mark J Lee, Stevie O'Connor, Smith and Brewer, Dave Luke and Chuck McAuliffe and Ian Calford. So that would be cool to do some shows with the likes of them! I've also been writing a little bit with Rosey Cale. It would be awesome to get out and play what we've been working on, and of course, Jodie Marie who has been helping me out on the recordings. She's fantastic live!
So, outside of music…What else make Josh Beddis tick?
I'm a family man and really love spending time with my wife and kids, when I'm not stuck in work.
The audio video for 'At The End Of The Day'
The first track release from you in April was ‘At The End Of The Day’. It’s a great song and true to the ‘original’ style of country music. I originally posted it out as 'With a whisky chaser in one hand and this track playing through the speakers....is absolute bliss!'
What’s lined up for the future? Gigs? EPs? Albums?
I have a couple of singles planned for release, as well as an EP. I've been writing quite a lot this year, so its time to let everyone know I'm here and hopefully get out and play live!

Josh releases his latest single 'Moving On' at the end of June and like his debut tune, stays impeccably true to the original style of country music and his wonderful trademark vocals!
The usual tales of lost love and heartbreak that ring true to a lot of downbeat country and Americana ballads are strong on this track...
"I'm feeling lonesome and I'm feeling blue..
And I feel I'm losing myself, the day I lost you"
There's beautiful misery flowing through this track and the vocals portray the true heartache that's being felt about a lost lover moving on with their life and finding someone else.
If every track is as good as the first two releases, then we're in for a treat when the EP and album gets to see the light of day!. If you like the classic, original country music, then you're going to love Josh Beddis' music. Get out and listen to this guys music, grab a live gig sometime soon and enjoy!
