Danger - Glass Jackets

John Winser (Gigs N Trigs)

Elliot Oakley, Ilana Held, Lucas Eldridge & James Sarson make up this 4-piece Folk Rock/ Blues band based in Cardiff, Wales.

They are all song-writing masters students and started making music together in 2016.

With a mutual love for the art of song-writing in all its glorious forms, Glass Jackets produce an infectious mix of the familiar and the original. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Bob Dylan, Frank Turner, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, GJ are here to deliver their own, modern spin on classic folk/rock/blues to the people of Cardiff and beyond!

"We've been together as a band for a year now, writing songs, playing gigs, and having an absolute ball of a time doing it. We’re a motley crew made up of a scouse lad, a dude from Somerset, a badass American woman, and our most recent addition, the tallest bassist in the world. By some mad miracle we’ve all ended up in the same city on the same planet and are now making music together. Our music is a foot stomping blend of folk and rock, featuring two-part harmonies intertwining with mad guitar solos, driving bass lines and energetic drums. All this comes together when we play and somehow we make it work." And they certainly do!

If you've been lucky enough to catch these guys live already, then you will have witnessed the country, rock and roll vibe of songs like Devil On My Shoulder, The Flood and harmonica laden Foxglove. But now...there is DANGER!!

If you love country, if you love folk and if you love the blues then you’re gonna love Glass Jackets! Danger is the new single from this unsigned Cardiff band and what starts out as with a sweet blues country riff quickly escalates into an indie rock-like vibe.

Ilana takes lead vocal on this one and with tracks like Devil On My Shoulder, The Flood and Foxglove already under their belts and knitted into the South Wales music scene, Danger steps it up another level. It gets is release on May 3rd with a single launch night at Gwdihw, Cardiff along with Bryony Sier and Ell South, giving us more fabulous country music from the ever-growing Welsh/Americana scene!

The band keep your head nodding and the feet stomping and all the while, the song builds up, adding layers and sending out sweet harmonies to get you singing along. Its an instantly likeable track with that catchy hook of a chorus and is a total earworm after a few listens..so beware!

There’s loads happening in the Glass Jackets camp at the moment, with the promise of three new tunes and fresh merch on the night, the only place you’ll be able to get a physical copy before its digital release!

So go get some tickets on the link below, stay up to date on their Facebook page, help them in their quest of world domination and be part of the DANGER!
